What will ethanol do to my car
I won't go so far as to draw parallels between gasoline sludge and elevated blood sugar levels. But even though ethanol is increasingly pumped into our gasoline supply for purely political reasons, we can hope that reasonable alternatives might be considered Sign up for our Newsletter! Some vehicles, like this Ford Escape Hybrid E85, are specially designed to run on a mixture of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. But how will your car's engine tolerate even 15 percent ethanol? Check out these Future Hybrid Car Pictures to learn more!

The good news is that E has been used in many parts of the country for over 25 years so there are proven ways to protect your engines from the potential hazards we have reviewed.
These formulations contain a chemical that absorb water which help prevent phase separation. They use a non-alcohol water remover that bonds with water molecules, thereby allowing excess water to pass through the engine and out the tailpipe without causing damage.
However, please note that large amounts of water in a fuel tank can result in lower power acceleration, if not engine damage and failure. If too much water is present in the fuel tank, the tank will have to be drained and replaced with fresh fuel and additive. The tank must be completely dry before new fuel and stabilizer are added. To help reduce the amount of water in a tank, it is important to keep it full whenever it will sit unused for any amount of time.
Water molecules are introduced by the air in the tank and the less empty space a tank has, the less air and water that will be present. These treatments are designed to protect ethanol-blended fuels against water attraction , varnish formation, and corrosion. The ethanol treatments help protect automotive, small engines and marine engines from these issues. Like the Fuel Stabilizer, the Ethanol Treatments protect fuel for up to 12 months.

Ethanol can damage anything that runs on gas—generators, lawn mowers, cars, etc. But there are ways to counteract these harmful effects. If you know that gas-powered equipment will sit dormant for a while, you can use an aftermarket fuel stabilizer to mitigate the effects of ethanol-blend gas in your fuel system. It cools down engines twice as much as petrol when vaporised and provides more octane, which helps improve efficiency.
Additionally, it improves the resistance of the fuel to the harmful premature combustion, reduces emissions and fuel consumption in optimised engines.
Fuel ethanol blends help combat climate change as they greatly reduce CO 2 emissions. But fuel ethanol can make an immediate impact in improving air quality: a recent European Commission study found that higher ethanol blends, including E20 and E85, especially help reduce emissions of Hydrocarbons HC , Nitrogen Oxide NOx and particulate matter.
And by using ethanol blends like E10, motorists can reduce harmful emissions. Cookie Policy.
