When is elenin closest to earth
This is no meteor. It has a pyramidal shaped when seeing the solar radiation bounce off. All of the doubter will be silenced soon. The Lumunati are here. You've had months of warning about Elenin, you've seen it coming, please spare us any more of the gibberish and descend into your hermetically sealed hidey-holes.
Hopefully you're off the grid, too, you don't want any mutated survivors coming after your dehydrated water and vacuum-sealed survival meals. Are we exactly sure when and where Elenin will first appear to the naked eye or easily visible with binoculars. I mean like I live on the west coast which direction should I look and when should I expect to have a good view.
I have Meade telescope that I want to set up out side when the visibility is easily attainable. So I can a least see this monster coming and watch the fire works. Yours truly, a Rinky dinky armature astronomer. Who sense's trouble on the horizon. Just because the comet has self-destructed broken up into smaller pieces doesnt mean the matter or mass making up the comet has suddenly disappeared.
It will however cause it to lose mass more quickly than before due to solar weathering, since the multiple smaller pieces means more available surface area to be ablated. I am reading these post and it just cracks me up. I don't consider myself highly inteligent but I question others who bring up theirs in a conversation. Like the two people who bet the world isnt going to end. How do u plan to payout if your wrong? Astronomy and Stargazing Projects. By: Roger W. Sinnott November 12, This Week's Sky At a Glance.

Richimon August 31, at pm If Elenin has broken apart, do we not stand a good chance of an incredible Comet Elenin meteor storm because the smaller pieces will be effected differently by the sun's gravity differently than the whole body, slowing the broken leftovers enough to have them rain down on the planet as we cross Elenin's original orbit.
Jon Hanford August 31, at pm "If Elenin has broken apart, do we not stand a good chance of an incredible Comet Elenin meteor storm?
John Parsons September 1, at pm I don't know where you get this icy nucleus. Tiffany September 1, at pm You know it's so funny that the closer this thing gets, the more people are trying to dissuade everyone from worrying about it. Tony Flanders September 2, at am Just to clarify a few things: First, the material from Comet Elenin willcontinue to orbit the Sun, though it will be too dispersed to appear bright.
If I win, I get the cash in 20years. If you win, I pay you the day after the asteroid hits. Some scenarios claimed comet Elenin would trigger catastrophic earthquakes because of its gravitational interactions with Earth. Another claim speculated that Elenin wasn't a comet at all, but actually a rogue planet called Nibiru that would also wreak havoc on Earth.
Comet Elenin was discovered in December by astronomer Leonid Elenin of Lyubertsy, Russia, who used a remotely operated observatory in the United States to make the find. Despite the hype, all of the outlandish comet Elenin doomsday claims were completely unfounded, NASA said repeatedly. But then NASA's official responses to quell the wild speculation were taken as attempts to hide the truth about comet Elenin , the space agency said. Still, Yeomans expects some die-hard conspiracy theorists will maintain that comet Elenin still exists.
Latest indications are this relatively small comet has broken into even smaller, even less significant, chunks of dust and ice. This trail of piffling particles will remain on the same path as the original comet, completing its unexceptional swing through the inner solar system this fall.
They will trail along in a debris cloud that will follow a well-understood path out of the inner solar system. After that, we won't see the scraps of comet Elenin around these parts for almost 12 millennia.
Twelve millennia may be a long time to Earthlings, but for those frozen inhabitants of the outer solar system who make this commute, a dozen millennia give or take is a walk in the celestial park. No offense meant there man — I just get a little incensed when crazy stuff like this pops up. And there is always a market for such craziness… I wish more people would read UT or Wikipedia before thinking the sky is literally falling.
NASA should not waste any time on debunking Elenin. Especially when any nut-job claim about Elenin is debunked by someone with half a brain. The only advice I would give NASA is replace that embarrassing bad java plugin with something more realistic. I must live on another planet, The only publicity I have seen is here on UT. Your last story must have gotten some serious traffic. Good luck on Round 2.
Latest Image of it here. In the wake of the last article here on Elenin the doomster-conspiracy wackos showed up.
The media in this country has become so riddled with paranoid delusional nonsense that it has framed a lot of commonly acceptable thinking these days. I also think comets tend to bring out some of this stuff as well. This reminds me of the American political discourse as of late. A quick background check on some of these candidates shows that most of them hold some pretty ideologically extreme views.
I find it difficult to believe that Americans who feel disenfranchised by Washington politics could seriously consider such candidates. This should be raising more alarm bells then it appears to be. Perhaps I am judging things prematurely and should expect the process of the preliminaries to weed out the non-moderates.
The facts as you have stated them are correct. The personages you have indicated as having pseudo-religious worldviews do seem to not agree with the consensual reality of me and thee. Their pseudo-religious worldviews do however agree with the larger part of the rigid right evangelicals such as we have been seeing for several decades hoping to achieve political offices and successive succeeding in greater numbers.
If a public believes what it wishes and a leader captures those with that general set of wishes then that leader will be thrust up as the mass of that public gathers followers, and so on it goes. Good luck herding those cats. There you can read the interpreted results of his decades long studies and some of his more recent thoughts. Any search will discover the site name and I choose to require those interested to expend that little effort in finding it.
Your reward might be in the effort. If that is the case then what about the earthquakes and other natural calamities occurring in globe?
