Why holy communion is important to christians

Consider the following statement - Receiving Holy Communion on Sunday is not important, it is living a Christian life that counts. People will agree or disagree with this statement. What is your opinion? It is Jesus whom has to suffer for their sins. By taking Holy Communion, they are realising all the things that Jesus has done for them.

It is also through Jesus that they will go to heaven and return to their Father- God, as Jesus said that if you have faith in him and believe in him you do so in God, too. Some people believe that Holy Communion is not the most important form of worship because people should be remembering Christ and God at all times.

Also, some people may not take Holy Communion very often but can still worship God at other times and places. Yes you should remember god and Christ during Holy Communion, but it is not the only time or most important time. If you believe in god and Christ, then you should not have set times of worship. You should worship and remember them at all times, whenever it is possible. God and Christ are with you in the form of the Holy Spirit, so really god and Christ are with you at all times and so you should remember them at all times, too, the way the Holy Spirit is always with you, as a part of you.

In my opinion, Holy Communion is not the most important way of worshipping and remembering God and Christ. I believe this because if you are a true Christian, then you should not remember God and Christ at only a specific time. God and Christ are in you in the form of the Holy Spirit. You should remember them at all times, because worshipping does not mean that you do it only when you go to church or take communion.

Yes these are times when you should also remember them, but not the most important times. There may be people who do not go to church very often to take communion, but this does not mean that you do not believe in god or not worship, because you should remember God in all your prayers and all other times, just as the Holy Spirit is with you at all times, similarly in the way god always knows what we do.

Prayer, remembrance and worship have never had a certain time at which they should take place. Ideally it should be done at all times and that is what all Christians should try to do.
